The Lindy Hop

THE LINDY HOP is a partnered dance that was very popular in The Savoy Ballroom in Harlem, New York in the mid 1920’s.  Dancing couples would show off their best moves while two competing Big Bands did the same.   The Lindy hop got it’s name when Charles Lindbergh hopped the Atlantic on his first solo flight from New York to Paris in 1927.
